Events & private dining

The ground floor of an 1886 hotel, yours for the evening

The Delaware has three spaces to host in: the dining room, our former restaurant, with its long table under a pressed tin ceiling; the lobby next door, with its bar, piano and grand staircase; and the mezzanine at the top of the stairs, a smaller room for about thirty guests. Book one, or take the whole ground floor. Your guests can sleep upstairs and walk downstairs to the party.

The dining room

A private dining room on Harrison Avenue

Our former restaurant has become a private dining room: a long live edge table down the middle for the head of the party, smaller tables along the windows, exposed brick hung with old portraits, a pressed tin ceiling, and a bar of its own. It suits a rehearsal dinner, a birthday, a board dinner or a holiday party, and it closes off from the lobby when you want it to.

An evening here

What a dinner at the Delaware looks like

A private dinner in the dining room: the long table set end to end, candles and flowers down the middle, cocktails from the bar, and a room that gets warmer as the night goes on. Bring the people, and we will have the room ready.

The lobby

The room the whole town remembers

Chandeliers, leather sofas, an upright piano, a bar, and the staircase everybody photographs. The lobby is where the Delaware has welcomed people since 1886, and it is the right room for a reception, a cocktail hour, live music or a wedding that wants a little grandeur without a ballroom.

The mezzanine

A smaller room at the top of the stairs

Up the stairs beside the bar, with a light set into the center of every step, the mezzanine sits above the lobby. It holds about thirty guests, which makes it the right size for a shower, a small reception, a cocktail hour before dinner downstairs, or a small meeting.
